Telia Carrier is one of the world's leading telecom network providers, serving companies as large as Facebook. As telecom services become more available and cheaper, Telia Group needs to focus on cost efficiency. In recent years, Telia Group has reduced its workforce from 70,000 to 21,000 people worldwide!
Despite the fact that Telia Carrier's products are world class, the cost of operations and service transparency needed to be improved. At some point, Telia Carrier defined a goal to embark on a transformation and digitalisation journey. As part of this, they decided to build a new public website and create a completely new self-service portal for existing customers.
At the beginning of 2018, VML launched a new public website for Telia Carrier, presenting complex telecom services. After this part was done as a first step, we took over the development of a self-service customer portal. With self-service and full transparency as our goal, we digitised the way customers work with Telia Carrier by introducing:
The "My Carrier" customer service portal is constantly evolving - new features, new integrations and major enhancements are delivered every quarter, and UX analysis and improvements are part of the daily work of the VML team.
The BP News App, developed by VML for BP, is an internal mobile application for BP employees. VML, known for its creative and technology-driven approach, was responsible for the entire project. It highlights the agency's flexibility in adapting to the dynamic environment of the BP brand. The BP News App project reflects VML ability to handle global technology projects and work with international partners. Key aspects of the project included
The app features a user-friendly design and interface, with a focus on ease of use for employees.
It is developed for both Android and iOS platforms, ensuring accessibility across different devices.
The app is integrated with a CMS called ARC, allowing for streamlined content updates and management.
Rip Curl has developed a unique ecosystem for surfers, centred around the Rip Curl Search GPS and GPS2 watch. This ecosystem allows surfers to track, store and relive their surfing experiences. Recent enhancements include an auto-sync feature, algorithm updates and integration with Apple technology through the Rip Curl Apple Watch Search app.
The main challenge is to extend the capabilities of the Rip Curl ecosystem to the Apple Watch using Apple's advanced technology. This involves not only adapting existing features, but also introducing new ones. The challenge is also to ensure that these additions increase user engagement and loyalty to the Rip Curl brand, rather than simply providing a utilitarian benefit.
The proposed solution included several key components:
Working with Colgate's IT team and external IT partners, we are responsible for creating new brand websites, localising them across EMEA and supporting business as usual activities such as landing page design and development and content updates.
VML's team of around 20 technical experts provides cost efficiency and scalability, delivering up to 300 projects per year and maintaining over 100 local brand websites.
Sanofi runs a scientific grant programme. The company offers up to $1 million per application to advance research that supports innovative treatments for type 2 inflammatory diseases. The applications submitted are very complex and require a team of 14 specialists to evaluate them.
Sanofi needed to digitise and automate the grant application process, communication with applicants and the review process. The goal was to reduce the review process to 7 working days.
We mapped a complete process flow and built a platform to optimise the submission of applications. An advanced assignment algorithm combined with a notification system allows reviewers to complete a 2-step review process within 7 days of receiving an application. To make it even more efficient, the contract signing process is supported by digital signature tools (Adobe Sign).
